In our latest dyno test we have this 2023 F40 BMW M135i xDrive in for tuning and testing. After quick installation of our 3 Channel Pro Petrol chip tuning box, it was up on the rollers to see what the engine could achieve.
Having tuned many of the B48 engine, it’s always great to get one on the dyno as we know exactly how well they respond to tuning. Our 4WD dyno providing the great option here for BMWs All-wheel drive xDrive system.
Dyno testing before and after shows healthy gains across the rev range, with a significant increase in power and torque, really transforming how the M135i feels to drive.
Peak power was increased, as we were able to lift it from 304hp at stock, up to 341hp with the box. If you take a look at the dyno graph below you can see how we change that curve (dotted red and blue lines). We give real consistency here, bringing that extra power in as soon as possible, whilst holding it for as long as possible throughout the rev range. Pay attention to the 4000rpm mark where you can see the gap and difference we have created.
Torque also saw some great improvements. At stock the engine produced 457Nm and now 519Nm with the box. If you take another look at the graph (solid lines), you can really see where we have applied those gains, allowing those torque improvements to be applied through the revs, giving that increase exactly where its needed.
