Which models do you cover?

We have solutions for every Ford Ranger remap, including those with SID212 ECU's and including the 2.0 BiTurbo.

For the few models where an ECU unlock is not possible, we have a range of plug in modules that can be custom tuned on our dyno for superb results.

What if my Ranger has already been remapped in the past?

Often we get asked to remap a vehicle that has already been remapped in the past. Often customers have visited several companies and been told that their ECU has been locked by the previous company and can no longer be accessed.

Whilst ordinarily we will read and write the ECU via the diagnostic port, if and when neccessary, we have the tools and experience to open your ECU and read its contents directly in bootmode.

Do you offer AdBlue solutions?

Ranger AdBlue systems can quite often be very problematic. Everything from faulty pumps, faulty wiring or defective NOx sensors can give problems.

We can offer a range of solutions to Adblue issues, including either repair or removal.

Any of our Ford Ranger remaps can have an AdBlue solution included on request. For more info view our page on AdBlue Repair.

Can you remove my Ranger's speed limiter?

If your Ranger is fitted with a speed limiter we can modify or remove this on request. Often vehicles which were ordered for corporations have low speed limiters fitted, which make it difficult to keep up with motorway traffic.

Ford Ranger Remap FAQ

What is Engine Remapping?

Engine remapping, also known as ECU tuning, is the process of modifying the settings of a vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU) to optimize its performance. The ECU is a crucial component that controls various aspects of the engine, including fuel delivery, ignition/injection timing, and turbo boost. By reprogramming the ECU, it is possible to unlock the hidden potential of your Ford Ranger's engine.

Why Remap Your Ford Ranger?

Remapping your Ford Ranger can provide a host of benefits that enhance both its power and efficiency. As stock ECU maps are designed to meet various global regulations and standards, they often have conservative settings that limit the engine's true potential. By remapping your Ford Ranger, you can tap into its hidden power and achieve a more exhilarating driving experience.

Benefits of Ford Ranger Remapping:

Increased Power and Torque

One of the primary reasons enthusiasts opt for Ford Ranger remapping is to boost the engine's power and torque. With a customized ECU map, you can unlock additional horsepower and torque figures, enabling your truck to accelerate more quickly and effortlessly handle heavy loads.

Improved Fuel Efficiency

Contrary to popular belief, remapping your Ford Ranger can also result in improved fuel efficiency. A well-executed remap optimizes the fuel delivery and ignition timing, allowing the engine to operate more efficiently. This optimization can lead to better fuel economy, saving you money at the pump.

Enhanced Throttle Response

Remapping your Ford Ranger can significantly improve its throttle response. By fine-tuning the ECU map, you can eliminate delays and hesitation in throttle inputs, resulting in a more immediate and responsive driving experience. This enhanced throttle response can make your truck feel more lively and engaging on the road.

Customised Driving Experience

Each driver has unique preferences when it comes to their vehicle's performance. With a remapped Ford Ranger, you can tailor the ECU settings to match your desired driving characteristics. Whether you prefer a sportier and aggressive feel or a more balanced and fuel-efficient setup, a remap allows you to customize the driving experience according to your preferences.

1. Will remapping my Ford Ranger void the warranty? Remapping your Ford Ranger can potentially affect your warranty. It is advisable to consult your vehicle's warranty terms and discuss the matter with the remapping service before proceeding.

2. Can I revert to the stock ECU map if needed? Yes, we keep a backup of your original ECU map and can restore it if necessary.

3. Is remapping my Ford Ranger safe? When performed by a reputable and experienced remapper, the process is very safe. It is absolutely worth spending the small amount extra on visiting a specialist with a rolling road and genuine tools. A van-based mobile remapper may well be cheaper, but at what cost?

4. How long does the remapping process take? Under normal circumstances it typically takes us 1-2 hours to remap most Ranger models.  We have a courtesy car on site, so you are welcome to take that out and go for a meal or a coffee, do some shopping, or whatever else you'd prefer. You are also absolutely welcome to wait in our reception area.

5. Can I perform a Ford Ranger remap myself? Remapping a vehicle's ECU requires specialized knowledge, equipment, and software. It is strongly recommended to leave the remapping process to professionals who have the expertise and experience in ECU tuning.

Conclusion

If you're looking to unleash the full potential of your Ford Ranger, remapping the engine's ECU can provide significant performance improvements. With increased power and torque, improved fuel efficiency, and enhanced throttle response, a Ford Ranger remap offers a massively improved driving experience.
