In our latest dyno test we have this incredible 2022 F97 BMW X3M Competition in for tuning and testing. Having spent considerable time with the S58 engine previously, we already know what an absolute masterpiece this engine is. We know it generates some pretty impressive numbers from stock, so we can already see the tuning potential from this X3M. After quick installation of our specifically designed 3 Channel Pro Petrol chip tuning box, it was up on the rollers to see what the engine could achieve.
It’s also worth mentioning that these vehicles currently have a locked ECU with no way to read or write the ECU data. This means that while traditional remapping is impossible, our tuning box can give owners the opportunity to make fantastic gains without requiring a traditional ECU flash. This has the added benefit of being traceless once removed for warranty purposes.

In this latest tune and dyno test, we take this 2012 F10 BMW 535d and custom tune it, adjusting the software and fine tuning the results from the rolling road dyno testing. The result… Some pretty impressive performance gains!!
Firstly, we take the BMW completely stock. We get it strapped up on to the rollers, and take it for the first set of tests to establish what the factory mapping is producing. You can see the stock dyno graph below. You can see that power and torque are both running pretty spot on to what the manufacturer quote, showing 311hp and 621Nm of torque.
Once we are happy that we have everything logged and the stock figures are dialled in, it’s time to connect to the ECU. We use our Autotuner system to connect directly on to the ECU. The process of this custom tune is very much a hands-on, ‘fine tweaking’ procedure. We make several alterations to the software, adjusting the exact parameters we need and configuring the software files to give us that increased power and torque.

These installation instructions are also applicable to the following model variants: M2, M3, M4 & X4M.

We were recently visited by this awesome 2023 VW Amarok 3.0 V6. The customer had already purchased a competitor’s tuning box, however they had a feeling it wasn’t delivering their quoted gains. Now, we often get asked the question about the similarities of tuning boxes, as most people assume that as they connect at similar points in the engine, that they must do the same. However that’s not always true and can totally depend on what the software is physically adjusting. Let’s see what we find from this one…

In this latest tune and dyno test, we take this 2007 R56 MINI Cooper S and custom tune it, adjusting the software and fine tuning the results from the rolling road dyno testing. The result… Some pretty impressive performance gains!!
Firstly, we take the MINI completely stock. We get it strapped up on to the rollers, and take it for the first set of tests to establish what the factory mapping is producing. You can see the stock dyno graph below. You can see that power and torque are both running slightly higher than manufacturer quoted, showing 183hp compared to 175hp, and 285Nm compared with 240Nm, but the customer was running a few hardware mods, so nothing too surprising coming from those.

This means that while traditional remapping is impossible, our tuning box can give owners the opportunity to make fantastic gains without requiring a traditional ECU flash. This has the added benefit of being traceless once removed for warranty purposes.
Dyno testing before and after shows healthy gains across the rev range, with a significant increase in power and torque, really transforming how the M340d feels to drive.
Peak power was significantly increased, as we were able to lift it from 331hp at stock, up to 405hp with the box. If you take a look at the dyno graph below you can see how we change that curve (dotted red and blue lines). We give real consistency
