In our latest dyno test we have this 2025 MG HS 1.5 in for tuning and testing. After a quick installation of our Pro Petrol chip tuning box, it was up on the rollers to see what the engine could achieve.
Dyno testing before and after shows healthy gains across the rev range, with a significant increase in power and torque, really transforming how it feels to drive.
Peak power was increased, as we were able to lift it from 175hp at stock, up to 195hp with the box. If you take a look at the dyno graph below you can see how we change that curve (dotted red and blue lines). We give much more consistency here, lifting every part of the rev range and really opening up in those higher revs, right up to that +20hp extra at its peak.
Torque also saw some impressive improvements. At stock the engine produced 275Nm and now 325Nm with the box. If you take another look at the graph (solid lines), you can really see where we have applied those gains. Again, showing improvements across every part of the rev range. Taking a look at the revs between 2500rpm and 3500rpm, we really iron out any of those lulls, right up to the +50Nm extra at its peak, delivering those increases exactly where it’s needed.
