In our latest dyno test we showcase our development work on our next generation chip tuning modules, for the 1.2 PureTech engine. Here we test both the Citroen C3 1.2 PureTech 110hp and the Citroen C4 1.2 PureTech 130hp.

Now we already get fantastic results from these variants with our existing boxes, but we have been developing our next generation modules to get even further enhancements. We achieve this by connecting at additional points within the engine, including the rail pressure sensor, the camshaft sensor, the manifold sensor and the boost pressure sensor. This ensures that we get the best results possible from this engine, across the entire rev range.

Dyno testing before and after shows healthy gains across the rev range, with a significant increase in power and torque, really transforming how they both feel out on the road.

First taking a look at the 110hp variant. Peak power was significantly increased, as we were able to lift it from 109hp at stock, up to 142hp with the box. If you take a look at the dyno graph below you can see how we change that curve (dotted red and blue lines). We give real consistency here, bringing that extra power in as soon as possible, whilst holding it for as long as possible throughout the rev range. Pay attention to that whole mid-section, where you can really see that lift compared against stock. Torque also saw some really impressive improvements. At stock the engine produced 211Nm and now 268Nm with the box. If you take another look at the graph (solid lines), you can really see the application of those gains. Again, that whole mid-section has had a visible increase and holding right the way through, delivering that increase exactly where it’s needed.

Now taking a look at the 130hp variant. Peak power running slightly lower than manufacturer quoted at 117hp rather than 130hp, but nothing too concerning here. We lifted it from 117hp at stock, up to 146hp with the box. If you take a look at the dyno graph below you can see how we change that curve (dotted red and blue lines). Similar story, as we lift right through that mid-section of the rev range, really delivering where it matters. Torque also saw some great improvements. At stock the engine produced 231Nm and now 264Nm with the box. If you take another look at the graph (solid lines), you again can see those increases, showing real consistency and really transforming how it feels out on the road.

So once tuned, you can see that there isn’t much between the two variants with our tuning module installed. We can lift the 110hp variant way beyond the stock 130hp variant, in every part of the rev range, giving you all that unlocked potential.
