For our latest dyno test we had this 2022 Ford Transit Custom 300 2.0 130hp in for an install and testing. We installed our Pro + Boost chip tuning box and loaded it on to the rollers…

This 2022 Transit Custom uses the SID212 ECU, which all Ford Transits have used since late 2019 onwards. This ECU can’t currently be remapped due to security protection within the ECU’s software.

This customer was looking for a warranty friendly solution, so our chip tuning box is an ideal alternative in this case. This Transit has 130hp & 385Nm as stock. Ford produce higher performance variants of the same Transit Custom, with the exact same engine. For example the 170hp & 405Nm model.

Dyno testing before and after shows healthy gains across the rev range, with a significant increase in power and torque.

Peak power was increased, we were able to lift it from 130hp at stock, up to 169hp with our box. Taking a look at the dyno graph you can see how the curve changes, bringing that power in right down from those lower revs, showing improvements across the whole rev range.

Torque with our box is also greatly improved. At stock the engine produced 372Nm, and now 440Nm with the box. Again, taking a look at the graph, you can really see the difference in the curve, holding those gains right throughout the revs.

The box provides great results, achieving 169hp/440Nm. This results in considerably more torque and effectively the same power output as the factory 170hp/405Nm model.

There are still further tuning options available for this vehicle. The box is a great option, does not require on-site adjustments and can be easily shipped worldwide. However, for those who do wish to get every bit of performance gain available, we do have more options for those that opt for an on-site custom tune.

Firstly we can change the factory power class of the vehicle. This will adjust part of the software within the ECU, moving stock power levels to a higher-powered variant. Using this Transit as an example, we would move outputs from 130hp & 385Nm at stock, up to 185hp & 420Nm. The ECU would now output this power level, allowing us to then install our tuning box, and get even more gains. This allows for the highest level of tune you would want from this current set up, usually somewhere in the region of 200hp and 450Nm.
