No ECU unlock required

Many modern BMW owners quickly discover that ECU remapping is no longer as simple as plugging in through the OBD port. Post-2020 BMW ECUs can be locked, which makes traditional ECU flashing more complicated, more expensive and more disruptive.

Unlocking routes such as FEMTO and Autotuner can involve removing the physical ECU, shipping it away, waiting for the unlock to be completed, reinstalling it, and only then arranging the actual remap. For many 330e owners, that is more hassle and risk than they want for a daily-driven car.

For best performance, especially once tuned, we recommend running high-quality 98-99RON fuel where available. The 330e will still work with standard fuel, but our own testing shows that premium fuel allows the car to deliver noticeably stronger results.
