Another awesome day spent on the dyno with this MINI JCW F56. Having spent considerable time with the JCW previously, it's always great to have another up on the dyno, as we already know we can generate some pretty decent numbers. We installed our 3 Channel Pro Petrol chip tuning box and loaded it up on the rollers.
Dyno testing before and after shows healthy gains across the rev range, with a significant increase in power and torque, really transforming how the MINI feels to drive.
Peak power was increased, as we were able to lift it from 232hp at stock, up to 286hp with the box. If you take a look at the dyno graph below you can see how we change that curve (dotted red and blue lines). We give real consistency here, bringing that extra power in as soon as possible, whilst holding it for as long as possible throughout the rev range.
Torque also saw some great improvements. At stock the engine produced 319Nm and now 386Nm with the box. If you take another look at the graph (solid lines), it’s a similar story, where you can really see where we have applied those gains, allowing those torque improvements to be applied through the revs. At around 2300rpm you can really see that stock run level out, before slowly starting to tail off, where as our tuned run continues to climb, delivering that extra torque for longer throughout the revs.
